Making children cry!

Bad as it sounds I like making children cry (to an extent). This is why, as some of you may know I work in a doctors office as part of my job I help immunize children 2 months up to 5 years of age. I help give shots every day sometimes 3 to 4 times a day if not more. I had a hard time at first with the whole stabbing a needle in to fat little thighs of cute innocent babies, and then I realized I'm not hurting them I am helping them, by me giving them a few shots in their early lives (that they will never remember) I am preventing them from getting very sick or even death. I know there has been a lot of controversy with mothers speaking out against immunizing their children because of the belief that it causes autism later in life. All I have to say to that is NOT TRUE, in fact, because mothers have chosen not immunize their children we have seen outbreaks of measles and whooping cough. Recently scientists who have been working on trying to find a link to autism and immunizing children have discovered no evidence linking the two together. As I work in a health profession I see it all, the mothers who are all gung-ho to start immunizing and those who refuse to make their children suffer the pain of a few shots thinking they are doing their child a favor of saving them from autism. It makes no sense to me why you would take such a risk, because of what some mom somewhere said caused her child's problem and has no answers so makes her own. Is it the child's fault they may end up with polio, measles, mumps, hep.A or any other disease they could have prevented through immunizations or the mothers who didn't allow it? I heard recently on the radio that day cares are starting to make mothers show prof of immunizations of their children before they allow them to be enrolled, and how some mothers were outraged because they chose not to immunize and were being turned away.... good! There is a reason we immunize, to keep diseases like mumps and polio spreading like wild fire. Is it fair to turn a child who hasn't been immunized away? I say yes to keep the ones who were even safer. So when it comes time to immunize my children and they get their first set of shots and scream and bawl til their face turns red and they hold their breath for just a second will I feel bad sure but will I do it again in two months? Dang straight will and my kids will love me for it.

  1. Nice Britt, just abuse the small children, why don't you, lol. I am all for immunizations. Sure Ky screamed for a few minutes after the second set of shots, but then she was over it. (I give her tylenol or motrin a half hour to an hour before her apt to help with the pain.) Only a few vaccines a few years ago were blamed for autism because they had an increase in mercury levels to make the vaccine shelf life longer, but even then the percentages of getting autism outweighed the risks of the pending diseases.
Any who, can't wait to read more posts.
